Wedding Cake Toppers Can Make Your Wedding Cake Look Even Better

Most couples getting married will choose to have a wedding cake. Most of these couples having a cake will have wedding cake toppers for their cake. These are the small models which sit on the top of the wedding cake and which traditionally represented the bride and groom. Their use began around 60 years ago, when they were pretty much all the same - a bride in her white wedding dress and a groom wearing his black suit.

Some of the best designs in the cute category are the ones which are hand made from polymer clay. They come in different clothes and hair styles, in different poses. Some retailers can have them custom made to your particular taste or style.

Themed

Weddings based on a theme are gaining popularity and there are designs to fit several different wedding themes. Western, motorcycle and military-themed toppers can all be found for sale online.

A lot of couples travel abroad to exotic resorts and get married on the beach. As you might expect, there are designs which fit in with the beach theme. Starfish, seashells and barefoot couples on a beach can all be found in this type of cake topper.

Shapes

Popular shapes for toppers include hearts and Celtic knot symbols. Other shapes include circles and squares. The shapes can be made from several materials including transparent acrylic which can hold a photo of the couple inside or can be engraved with the couples names and the date of their wedding. The Irish Claddagh symbol is also incorporated into some of the designs.
